New Record set at Fourth Match Day!

The Nemaha County STEP Foundation held its fourth annual STEP-Up Nemaha Match Day on Friday, August 23, 2024. A new net record of over $247,000 was set. Donors gave in person at the Seneca Free Library between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. with KMZA radio broadcasting live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Online donations were collected at www.stepupnemaha.com.

STEP Treasurer Tim Rottinghaus shared, “It was a great day to be in Nemaha County with over $140,000 raised on Match Day that when combined with the Patterson Family Foundation and STEP-Up Supporter match money, the grand total grew to nearly $247,500.  This was again a record setting year, and we sincerely thank everyone who generously participated.  Once again, we thank the Patterson Family Foundation for their generous matching donation.”

Executive Director Tory Jost reiterated, “Wow! What a phenomenal day of giving. Thanks to our generous donors, our fourth Match Day set a new record.” All thirty-two funds received donations which ranged from $50 to $26,330. Eleven funds were successful in securing the maximum $4,000 match. The Centralia Project Fund (pool enhancements) brought in the most overall donations with $26,330 followed by the Spring Creek Golf Course Fund with $21,335, and then the STEP General Fund at $10,388. Four hundred sixteen gifts were received, with a special thank you to the $20,000 donor. For a complete list of funds and balances, check out the leaderboard at www.stepupnemaha.com.

Jost emphasized, “Thank you again for making Nemaha County a great place to live, work, and give.” The fifth annual Match Day will be held in August 2025. To become a STEP-Up Supporter or set up a fund with the STEP Foundation, please contact Tory Jost at info@nemahastep.org.
